Home for the Holidays: A Guide to Coziness
Staying home for the holidays this year? Make each day at home a little cozier with some helpful tips from the Artogone team.
As days get shorter and the weather gets colder, we’re craving warmth and comfort more than ever. Here are a few suggestions to help make your holidays at home more restful.
Lighting is Key
Let in as much natural light as possible. Sunlight can help brighten your mood, even during the coldest days of winter. If you find yourself needing a little help from artificial lighting, make sure your light bulbs are on the warmer side. Avoiding overhead lighting and diversifying light sources by adding lamps, lanterns, tea lights or reflective objects, such as mirrors, is another great way to warm up a room.
Still not cozy enough? Light some candles to enhance the romance.
Pattern and Texture
Surround yourself with colors, motifs and textures that are satisfying to the eye and to the touch. Add soft throws, rugs and pillows to areas where you want to relax. Natural materials such as wood and ceramics are also great picks. Woven baskets can help keep a space tidy and are usually made from organic fibers. As for color, consider white, warm or neutral tones. Let your personal definition of coziness guide you.
Stimulate your creativity by reading a good book, journaling, drawing or playing music. Need a more hands-on approach? Follow a tutorial for a D.I.Y. project. Whatever it is you enjoy doing, take a moment to do it! Don’t hold yourself back – let your creativity flow. We also suggest spending time in nature to find inspiration and take in some fresh air.
To accompany you in your creative endeavors, we’ve created a playlist on Spotify based on musical suggestions from our artists and staff.
Connect With Others
Whether online or in person, spend some quality time with those you love. Hearing the voice of someone you care about can be a great source of comfort. Nurture your relationships but don’t forget to take some time for yourself too!
Add Some Art
As a gift for a loved one or as a well deserved treat for yourself, introducing artworks to your space can make it feel instantly cozier. Choose an artwork that soothes you or makes you smile. Representations of nature are also a great to make your home more inviting. When purchasing art as a present, why not choose a piece that reminds you of a memory you’ve shared with the person receiving it?
To receive your artworks in time for the holiday season, we suggest ordering by December 4th, 2020.
Shipping is free for U.S. and Canadian residents.
We hope these suggestions helped and we wish you a happy holiday season!
Stay warm, cozy and in good health,
